Riboty et al., 2016 evaluaron el efecto de Gustor BP70 (BP70) y Virginiamicina (VM) sobre la digestibilidad de los nutrientes, energía metabolizable (EM), metabolitos séricos y rendimientos en pollos de engorde.
Se realizó un diseño en bloques aleatorio con 1071 pollos Cobb 500 de 1 día.
Los tratamientos fueron: dieta sin antibióticos (T1), con 20 ppm de VM (T2) y con 700 ppm de BP70 (T3).
En la prueba 1, se estudiaron los rendimientos y los metabolitos séricos en 903 pollos distribuidos en los 3 tratamientos (n=7). Se tomó una muestra de sangre de un pollo por réplica a 11 y 31d.
En la prueba 2, se determinó la digestibilidad de los nutrientes y la EM en 168 pollos de los 3 tratamientos (n=8).
Las muestras fecales fueron recogidas entre los 10 – 13d y 30 – 33d. La digestibilidad de la material seca, proteína bruta, grasa, la EM verdadera y EM corregida por nitrógeno fueron superiores con el BP70 (P<0,01).
El BP70 incrementó el colesterol a los 11d (P=0,04), lo que podría relacionarse con una mejor integridad intestinal; además redujo el ácido úrico a los 31d (P=0,02) respecto al T1 y T2, respectivamente.
Los pollos del BP70 obtuvieron mejores ganancias de peso (1,990, 2,006 y 2,096g; P=0.01, para T1, T2 y T3) e índice de conversión (1,80, 1,77 y 1,73; P<0.01, para T1, T2 y T3).
Esto sugiere que Gustor BP70 puede utilizarse como promotor del crecimiento en broilers.
